When we go through difficult seasons, it is easy to feel alone and isolated. When bad things happen to us in the past, they tend to shadow our present; we feel trapped, as if we can never escape from our history. We may feel that we can never improve and that it's all hopeless. However, there is hope, there is healing, and there is wholeness.
As your therapist, I fill the role of "empathic witness" by meeting you where you are and walking alongside you in your journey to wholeness. Based on my understanding of the mind-body connection, my professional philosophy involves working with you to explore how your body and brain influence your thoughts and emotions. Together, we can change unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors, manage overwhelming emotions, and promote calmness in both your body and mind. I value the therapist-client relationship because it is essential for fostering healthy change. I strive to help you feel safe, secure, and empowered in our sessions. I am particularly passionate about working with individuals who have a trauma background and are feeling stuck in their anxiety and depression. Together, we can help you regain control over your life.

Are you tired of craving peace and quiet, only to feel restless the moment you find it? Do you catch yourself questioning everything internally, even when you have what you need? These experiences can be signs of depression, anxiety, stress, or unresolved trauma. I help men, veterans, service members, and children reconnect with themselves, improve behaviors, and find the stability and clarity they and their families have been searching for.
As a Marine Corps veteran, I know firsthand how hard it can be to open up, especially to someone who doesn’t understand the culture, the pressure, or the unspoken expectations. I’ve been in the seat where therapy felt distant and disconnected. That’s why I’ve dedicated my work to bridging that gap and making you feel understood from the start.
Whether you're surviving the stress of your day-to-day, struggling with mental health, seeking more satisfaction in your relationships or career, needing to change and modify some behaviors, or simply trying to regain a sense of purpose, no matter the problem, I’ve got your back.

Hello, my name is Macie, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 12 years in the behavioral health field. Seven of those years have been dedicated to crisis intervention. I provide trauma informed, evidence-based, client-centered psychotherapy within a warm, non-judgmental, and honest therapeutic environment. I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, pregnancy and postpartum concerns, and adjustment to life transitions, including career-related stress and decision-making in a multitude of life areas. My approach is collaborative and goal-oriented, utilizing clinically informed interventions to support emotional regulation, insight, and sustainable change utilizing approaches such as; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Narrative approaches.

My approach to therapy is caring, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I use different styles of therapy depending on your needs, but at the heart of it, I believe healing happens in a safe, supportive relationship. I often work with people who are feeling anxious, going through relationship struggles, dealing with low self-esteem, navigating big life changes, or figuring out what it means to be highly sensitive or neurodivergent. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns that once helped them cope but no longer feel useful. Together, we gently explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion.
People often describe me as calm, present, and easy to talk to. At the same time, I stay actively involved in sessions. I believe real growth usually means stepping a little outside your comfort zone, and my role is to support you in stretching just enough to foster change, without overwhelming your system. My hope is that therapy with me feels like a space where you can bring your whole self and know that you’ll be met with care and respect. Outside of the therapy room, I’m also pursuing my PhD in Counseling Psychology. My research looks at how we adjust during big life transitions, including culture shock, finding belonging, and how our sense of self can shift during these times.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) with prior experience in both Inpatient and Outpatient Mental Health settings. Together, we will take both a collaborative and holistic approach, building a 'helping' relationship based on compassion, empathy, and trust; empowering you to reignite the best version of yourself. I enjoy incorporating aspects of DBT, CBT, mindfulness, and art therapy, along with strategies that consist of a strengths-based and person-centered approach.

I specialize in working with people who struggle with a variety of mental health issues utilizing a trauma-informed, somatic, and integrated approach. As your therapist, I will meet you where you are in your journey and provide you with the skills needed to manage your symptoms while we work together to dig into the deeper issues behind their existence. My approach is both compassionate and direct as I work to come alongside my clients in their time of need.
