Requirements for Group Eligibility

Clients need to know how to read, write, learn, and communicate at a high school level and have the time/ability to commit to mostly-regular group attendance (or you will feel confused and lost). Clients must be able to connect to the group virtually via Google Meet and know how to use their email (you will receive communication and group invites via email). Thus, clients need an internet connection that is reliable most of the time, a webcam, speakers/headset/earbuds, and a private place to meet each week. Clients must be 19 years or older.

This group will teach individuals the following skills

  • DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): We will identify and challenge unhelpful speech patterns while strengthening communication skills to enhance emotional regulation and improve interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Mindfulness: Participants will learn grounding techniques to remain present during times of uncertainty. We will also explore how faith can provide stability and reassurance, while incorporating practical coping strategies to help manage anxiety.
  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): We will examine and reframe negative thought patterns, while cultivating self-compassion and learning to extend grace to ourselves throughout the process of growth and change.
  • Psychoeducation: We will explore the historical and cultural context of the Bible to better understand its relevance in modern life. In addition, participants will gain insight into the neuroscience of anxiety, helping to build awareness and develop effective strategies for managing and reducing anxious responses.
