Schema Therapy at Overcomers

Schemas are deep-seated, negative patterns of thinking and feeling that often develop in childhood. Schema therapy helps you identify these patterns, understand their origins, and learn healthier ways of coping and relating. It’s about healing old wounds and changing long-standing negative cycles.

Finding a Schema Therapist in Colorado

We believe long-standing patterns can be traced back to their origin — and rewritten.

Schema therapy addresses deep-seated, negative patterns of thinking and feeling that often develop in childhood and repeat throughout life. At Overcomers Counseling in Colorado, our schema-informed therapists help clients identify these patterns, understand where they came from, and build healthier ways of coping and relating.

Our team of dedicated schema-trained counselors helps you understand old wounds well enough to finally change the pattern.

Schema Therapy Services

Some patterns are old enough that they feel like just who you are — they're not.

We offer schema therapy at our Colorado Springs, Aurora, Pueblo, and Fort Collins offices, often complementing CBT for clients working through longstanding patterns.

Schema Therapy for Longstanding Emotional Patterns

If you've noticed the same emotional pattern showing up across relationships, jobs, or decades, schema therapy helps trace it to its root and build something different.

Benefits of Schema Therapy

Addresses Root-Level Patterns — Not just symptoms, but the beliefs driving them.

Creates Lasting Change — Clients often notice patterns finally shifting, not just softening temporarily.

I have been with overcomers for years as a therapy patient and recently transfered from a different psychiatrist to Shannon Powell. She made the whole process so simple and seamless. I was honestly expecting things to be a lot more difficult but was pleasantly surprised. Thank you for making me feel so heard and understood! 10/10 stars!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I feel like she listens to everything I have to say in a non-judgemental way. She remains nuetral and provide valid information as necessary and doesnt feed into my delusions, yet help me escape them step by step. When we are speaking i feel she is very attentive and engage in the conversation(s) at hand. I enjoy how relatable she can be on difficult topics. All I have to say about Miranda is GOAT.
