Hi, I'm Lubna Al Sindy, MA, a mental health therapist dedicated to providing a compassionate, supportive space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences and create meaningful change. I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, self-esteem, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm. My approach is collaborative and individualized, drawing from person-centered therapy, somatic practices, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients strengthen emotional resilience, deepen self-awareness, and reconnect with themselves. I value providing culturally responsive care that honors each client's unique background, identity, and lived experiences. I believe healing happens through authentic connection, and I strive to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and empowered throughout your journey.

I deeply respect the transformative power of therapy and see it as a space where compassion meets shared human experience. Each session is an opportunity to honor my clients' stories with care and support mutual growth. My approach is strengths-based, focused on helping clients reframe their narratives as survivors, not victims, while highlighting their resilience in the face of challenges. Above all, I’m committed to creating a safe, collaborative space where we can explore self-discovery, growth, and healing together.

Many of us spend so much time taking care of everyone else that we forget what it feels like to take care of ourselves. We push through stress, trauma, loss, relationship challenges, work demands, and daily responsibilities because that's what we've always done. Over time, that constant pressure can leave us feeling exhausted, disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck.

As a Psychologist Candidate with a PhD in Clinical Psychology, I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, adjustment to changes, ADHD, autism spectrum level one concerns, relationship difficulties, and challenges related to stress, identity, and personal growth. I have a particular passion for working with first responders, veterans, healthcare professionals, and other helping professionals who often carry significant responsibilities while putting their own needs last.

Our work isn't about fixing what's "wrong" with you. It's about understanding your story, recognizing what has helped you survive, and developing tools that help you move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and resilience. My approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and tailored to your unique needs, goals, and strengths so that therapy feels meaningful, practical, and supportive of the life you want to create.

I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with ten years of experience in psychiatry and medication management. I've had the privilege of helping individuals of all ages and backgrounds overcome a variety of mental health challenges, from depression and anxiety to more complex conditions like bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Throughout my career, I've become increasingly passionate about the importance of accessible mental health care. I firmly believe that everyone should have access to high-quality mental health services, regardless of their age, socioeconomic status, or lifestyle. Unfortunately, many barriers to care still prevent people from getting the help they need, such as long wait times, limited insurance coverage, and stigmatization. That's why I've made it my mission to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that is accessible and inclusive to all. Whether you're struggling with a mental health issue for the first time or have been living with a condition for years, I'm here to help. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals, and I always strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where my clients can feel heard and supported. Thank you for taking the time to read about me. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a consultation, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Summary
Across hundreds of client reviews, one theme comes through again and again: people feel truly heard here. Clients describe finally finding a therapist who understood them, gaining real tools for anxiety, trauma, and anger management, and walking away from sessions feeling lighter and more hopeful. Many say Overcomers was the first place therapy actually felt like the right fit — a space to be met with warmth, patience, and genuine care on the path to becoming who they're meant to be.

Serena Chalepah, LPCC
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Serena has not only knowledge, but compassion, understanding, guidance to push through whatever obstacles I have faced, and the advice needed to learn new traits or skills. I’ve definitely had a battle of finding a therapist I not only connect with, but someone I’m comfortable sharing some uncomfortable situations with to help move past. She’s been so very patient with me and my life’s ups and downs. I can’t thank her enough for being so genuine! Has been nothing but a great experience!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I have been with overcomers for years as a therapy patient and recently transfered from a different psychiatrist to Shannon Powell. She made the whole process so simple and seamless. I was honestly expecting things to be a lot more difficult but was pleasantly surprised. Thank you for making me feel so heard and understood! 10/10 stars!

Miranda Puente, LSW
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I feel like she listens to everything I have to say in a non-judgemental way. She remains nuetral and provide valid information as necessary and doesnt feed into my delusions, yet help me escape them step by step. When we are speaking i feel she is very attentive and engage in the conversation(s) at hand. I enjoy how relatable she can be on difficult topics. All I have to say about Miranda is GOAT.
