Hi! My name is Clarissa, and I specialize in working with people who feel emotionally burnt out and are struggling to stay afloat. Life can get really overwhelming, and sometimes we need someone who will listen, ask thoughtful questions, and help us untangle everything that's been on our minds. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, past trauma, or simply feeling stuck, we'll work together to understand what you're going through and figure out what to do next.

I think that therapy works best when it's a partnership. Instead of me telling you what your life should look like, we will explore what feels right for you and go at your pace. I work with adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds and offer therapy in both English and Spanish. Whether this is your first experience with therapy or you've been in counseling before, you're welcome here. I hope to hear and see you for who you are.

Si prefiere hablar en español, será un gusto acompañarle en este proceso.

Feeling safe with others is probably the most critical aspect of mental health; safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives." - Bessel Van Der Kolk.

I believe that we all deserve relationships that we feel emotionally safety within. Relationships where we can get in touch with our emotions and feel truly felt by another person. I believe in the power of sharing our stories and being seen and "feeling with" another human being can be an incredibly healing experience. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's in Social Work(SWC).

As a therapist, I strive to provide others with outside insight, helpful information, and empathy to help you normalize your struggles. I bring good listening skills, and a little gentle humor to each session. My practice is rooted in attachment theory and pulls on IFS and Narrative work.  I am happy to work with clients who have a variety of challenges including- relationships, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and LGBTQ support!

"Recovery can only take place within the context of relationships; it cannot occur within isolation." -Judith Herman

I believe that life and mental health are a journey. My job is to walk alongside you on this journey until you feel comfortable navigating life on your own. Therapy is essential for unlocking the best versions of ourselves. I am an LPCC in the state of Colorado, and I look forward to working with you. I have worked in mental health for the past seven years, including roles as a mental health technician in a hospital, answering crisis intervention phone lines, providing in-person crisis intervention, and offering individual clinical mental health therapy. It can be challenging to navigate life's twists and turns alone. Therapy provides a safe space to explore our inner selves, thoughts, and feelings, gaining insights to overcome obstacles and achieve personal growth. As your therapist, my role is to provide unwavering support and guidance as you embark on this journey of self-discovery.

We all need support—someone to listen to us with an open and nonjudgmental mind, someone to help us reorganize our thoughts when we are confused, undecided, or overwhelmed, and someone to cheer us on when we struggle without pushing us faster than we are ready to go. My goal is to provide you with the comfort necessary for introspection and healing and to search with you for any tools that may enrich your journey of self-discovery and fulfillment. As difficult as it is to take that first step into a counselor's office, I believe that seeking help when in need is the greatest act of love we can gift ourselves, as well as the clearest sign of strength and maturity. So, although the day we first meet will mark the beginning of our journey, it will not be the beginning of yours: you are already well on your way! I look forward to walking alongside you, wherever your path may lead.

As a trauma-informed therapist specializing in PTSD, I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and empowering space for healing. I honor the courage it takes to step into therapy and engage in the inner work. Life’s challenges can leave us feeling anxious, depressed, and uncertain—sometimes even questioning the direction of our lives. I understand how overwhelming and isolating that can be. My approach is to walk alongside you with compassion and curiosity, helping you gain clarity, reconnect with your values, and rediscover a sense of meaning in your life. With a blend of authenticity, life experience, and a sense of humor, I strive to create a welcoming and grounded environment where real change can occur. I focus on helping individuals reconnect with themselves, build emotional resilience, and find clarity and strength in who they are. I bring a culturally inclusive perspective to every session and tailor the therapeutic process to meet each client’s needs and goals. I’m honored and humbled to be part of this work, and I look forward to supporting you on your mental health journey with compassion, insight, and wholehearted care. My training and experience include a Master's of Arts in Clinical Mental Health, over three decades of service in education as a principal and teacher, a Master’s and Bachelor’s in special education, certification as an Emotional Freedom Coach, and certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, as well as CAMS Certified (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality). Summary
Across hundreds of client reviews, one theme comes through again and again: people feel truly heard here. Clients describe finally finding a therapist who understood them, gaining real tools for anxiety, trauma, and anger management, and walking away from sessions feeling lighter and more hopeful. Many say Overcomers was the first place therapy actually felt like the right fit — a space to be met with warmth, patience, and genuine care on the path to becoming who they're meant to be.
