You are the author of your own life. Sometimes, the story gets confusing. I'm here to partner with you in better understanding yourself, where you are, and where you want to be. For me, the therapeutic relationship is foundational for success, and ours will be built on safety, trust, and compassion. I take an integrative and client-centered approach to counseling, tailoring my methods to suit your unique needs and preferences. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions openly. While proficient in several modalities, I specialize in anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. I help my clients build resilience through self-compassion, develop coping skills, and ultimately foster healthier relationships with themselves and those around them. I hold a Master's of Science in Education (MSEd) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Bonaventure University and have worked with clients from all walks of life, ages, and diverse reasons for seeking counseling.

I'm a licensed professional counselor candidate (LPCC in Colorado, LPCA in South Carolina) with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported, just as you are. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready to explore what’s next, we’ll work together in a way that centers your values, voice, and sense of agency. I draw from a variety of approaches based on what fits you best, and we’ll move at a pace that respects your needs, whether we’re focusing on the present, making space for the past, or imagining the future. I’m especially drawn to work that explores how early experiences shape who we are and how we relate to the world. Many of the people I work with are carrying the weight of developmental or complex trauma- wounds that can be hard to name but show up in powerful ways over time. Together, we’ll gently untangle those patterns and work toward greater clarity, connection, and healing. I have a special interest in supporting individuals navigating adoption-related experiences, identity questions, anxiety, and the layered grief that can accompany growth.

Hello, I’m Sarah, and I am a Mental Health Therapist providing clinical counseling to individuals with various mental health-related concerns. I have worked in the mental health field since 2017 and primarily have experience with marriage and family counseling, individual counseling, crisis assessment and intervention, and school and community-based mental health services. I graduated with my Master’s in Counseling from Cairn University, and some of my clinical interests include grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and trauma. As a clinician, I aim to create a nurturing, supportive, and trauma-informed space for my clients to heal through an approach that best fits their needs, goals, and concerns. In my experience, therapy is a joint venture between client and therapist where our knowledge and skills are combined to find the best solutions built on the foundation of trust, compassion, and safety. Outside of the counseling office, I enjoy reading, trying new foods, watching movies, and going on walks with my husband.

Hi and welcome to your journey toward a better, more authentic you. I am a clinical mental health counselor who strives to support you in achieving your goals. I hope to walk this journey with you, providing a safe space for you to be vulnerable and discover your inner strength and beauty. I am passionate about helping adolescents with eating disorders. With my background working with this population and understanding the personal effects this illness can have, I aim to empower you on your road to recovery and instill the belief that recovery is not only possible but also worth it! I received my bachelor’s in Psychology and Biohealth Sciences from Oregon State University in 2017 and my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2022 from Adams State University. I completed my practicum in crisis services and my internship in an intensive outpatient program for children and adolescents. I have experience in community mental health, including crisis services, addiction, school-based counseling, and outpatient behavioral health services, as well as in an intensive outpatient program for adolescents with eating disorders. In these various roles, I have worked with clients experiencing the effects of ADHD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and behavioral disorders. The therapeutic approaches I use include Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am also trained in Child-Centered Play Therapy. My hope is to provide my clients with skills, identify their strengths, and eliminate barriers to assist them in moving toward healing and gaining autonomy. I was born in Oregon and raised in Montana. I moved to Colorado with my husband in 2019, where we are now raising our children. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, watching professional sports, coaching soccer, reading, and playing with my children (both two-legged and four-legged).

Feeling safe with others is probably the most critical aspect of mental health; safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives.†- Bessel Van Der Kolk.  I believe that we all deserve relationships that we feel emotionally safety within. Relationships where we can get in touch with our emotions and feel truly felt by another person. I believe in the power of sharing our stories and being seen and "feeling with" another human being can be an incredibly healing experience. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's in Social Work(SWC). As a therapist, I strive to provide others with outside insight, helpful information, and empathy to help you normalize your struggles. I bring good listening skills, and a little gentle humor to each session. My practice is rooted in attachment theory and pulls on IFS and Narrative work.  I am happy to work with clients who have a variety of challenges including- relationships, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and LGBTQ support!"Recovery can only take place within the context of relationships; it cannot occur within isolation." -Judith Herman

The hardest part of the therapeutic process is reaching the door of the therapist. I believe that the work begins at that moment. The relationship you develop with your therapist is essential to feel and know you are "heard." Holding space for people and finding a way to the light of healing is crucial. Change occurs when a person is willing to bring the issue or issues into the light. As a therapist, my goal is to assist you in finding deeper meaning and healing. My position is to help you through the process. I look forward to helping you along the journey of healing.
