I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC in Colorado, LPCA in South Carolina) with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported, just as you are. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready to explore what’s next, we’ll work together in a way that centers your values, voice, and sense of agency. I draw from a variety of approaches based on what fits you best, and we’ll move at a pace that respects your needs- whether we’re focusing on the present, making space for the past, or imagining the future.

I’m especially drawn to work that explores how early experiences shape who we are and how we relate to the world. Many of the people I work with are carrying the weight of developmental or complex trauma- wounds that can be hard to name but show up in powerful ways over time. Together, we’ll gently untangle those patterns and work toward greater clarity, connection, and healing. As an adoption-competent, adoptee-centric provider, I bring both lived and professional experience working with all members of the adoption constellation. I have a special interest in supporting individuals navigating adoption-related experiences, identity questions, anxiety, and the layered grief that can accompany growth.

I love empowering my clients and helping them take control of their lives. Although we may share similar experiences, only you know what it's like to be in your shoes, so you get to decide what is best for you. Hi! My name is Clarissa, and I work primarily with adolescents and young adults.

I am a native Spanish speaker. Since I was young, I've always known that I wanted to help people, and providing therapy is something that has called to me for a long time. This led me to complete a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Spanish, as well as a Master's degree in Social Work. I strive to create a safe environment for my clients. This means holding a judgment-free space for my client to speak freely as they try to make sense of themselves and their world. My goal is to help you feel heard and guide you in becoming the best version of yourself.

I've been fortunate to practice as a therapist since my internship/practicum as a therapist in 2011 and graduating with my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling in May of 2012. My career began in a practice that specialized in general mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, parenting support, and couples counseling to treating abuse survivors of varying ages and degrees of severity. After a few years in that practice, I began work as a Clinical Coordinator and Counselor who's caseload consisted of mostly children, teens and their families with the goal of healing trauma and building a safe, loving and respectful environment for all. Over the course of the last decade I have run my own private practice where I've done work with couples, grief and loss, relationship difficulty, divorce, trauma, teens, parenting support, chronic illness and managing various life challenges and mental health concerns my clients need support with. At present, I am in the final stages of completing my Doctorate of Education in Community Care and Counseling with a Traumatology emphasis. This has created opportunity for me to learn even more in the field of trauma and therapeutic treatments that support sustainable healing. I have an eclectic therapeutic approach that has been developed by my 14+ years of therapeutic experience, trainings/practice and my own personal experience as a wife, mother, woman and person navigating life. My treatment style is tailored to what the client needs, honesty in facing the pain or difficulty that client may be managing, while holding hope for healing and a better future. I am a big believer that trauma and life experience wounds can be managed/soothed and no-one is beyond redemption if they choose to start the process of healing. I am looking forward to working with you, your family and your significant others.

I am passionate about helping people uncover their strengths and navigate life’s challenges with compassion and understanding. I take pride in building meaningful, collaborative relationships with my clients. My approach to counseling is client-centered and trauma-informed, blending tools from cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, interpersonal therapy, and mindfulness to meet each client's unique needs. I believe in a whole-body approach to mental health, recognizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and emotions in the healing process. I value connection and find witnessing my clients’ resilience and growth deeply rewarding. I have worked with adolescents and adults navigating a variety of concerns, including eating disorders, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. No matter the concern, my goal is to create a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel empowered to share their stories and create meaningful change.

One of the most profound forms of self-love is the decision we make that we are worthy of being fully heard and seen. While therapy can feel intimidating or uncomfortable, it is my priority to create a safe environment where clients can feel authentically themselves. I approach the therapeutic process as walking alongside you, as we work towards the areas you feel are most important to you. I value warmth, genuineness, empathy, learning, and our relationship as the most essential components of therapy. From my experiences working with individuals, couples, and families, I have witnessed the magic of therapy and the unwavering resilience of humans. You are deserving of living a life free of the weights you carry. If you are willing to have me on your side, I would be honored to support you.
