Do you feel like you’re constantly giving your all, yet it never quite feels like enough? Are you the one everyone relies on who forgets to take care of themself? Do you find yourself wondering why, despite everything you do, something still feels like it’s missing? Many people live this way, overextended, overlooked, and quietly exhausted, while trying to hold their relationships, responsibilities, and expectations together. Over time, always prioritizing others and neglecting your own needs can leave you feeling unfulfilled and disconnected from the life you’re working so hard to maintain. It doesn’t have to stay this way. A more balanced, meaningful, and genuinely fulfilling life is possible.

As a people-pleasing, eldest daughter I know firsthand how hard it can be to feel like you never quite measure up to the expectations of others. I truly believe that life isn’t meant to feel this hard or this heavy all the time. You don’t have to keep pushing through on your own or stay stuck in a cycle that leaves you drained and unfulfilled. My approach to therapy begins with you, right where you are, without pressure or judgment. From there, we will work together to understand what’s been weighing on you and help you chart a path forward that feels aligned and sustainable. Along the way, you’ll build a stronger sense of control, learn practical tools to reduce overwhelm, and begin creating space for a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and truly your own.

Hello friends, if you are reading this, you may be feeling stuck, or shattered, or afraid that healing is not possible for you, and the pain you're experiencing is just how your life is now. But healing is possible. My name is Sara Williams and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate. I completed my Bachelor’s in Forensic Psychology at ASU and received my Master’s from Colorado Christian University. Having the opportunity to be a part of someone’s therapeutic journey is a huge privilege and providing an environment for you to feel safe, heard, and gain healing is a top priority. I use an array of evidenced based treatments and have experience working with a variety of ages, demographics, and presenting concerns. I specialize in EMDR and have a passion for working with individuals who have been impacted by trauma. I believe that people are created to be resilient, but unfortunately, time does not heal all wounds. Sometimes we need extra support and skills to overcome our past and reclaim the future. Taking the step to begin therapy can be daunting, but it would be a privilege for me to be a part of your healing journey!

I offer an empathetic, non-judgmental space where you can feel safe, heard, and respected. My approach is person-centered and uniquely tailored to each client. I believe meaningful change happens within a therapeutic relationship built on trust, collaboration, and understanding. Hi and welcome to your journey toward a better, more authentic you. I am a clinical mental health counselor who strives to support you in achieving your goals. I hope to walk this journey with you, providing a safe space for you to be vulnerable and discover your inner strength and beauty. I am passionate about helping adolescents with eating disorders. With my background working with this population and understanding the personal effects this illness can have, I aim to empower you on your road to recovery and instill the belief that recovery is not only possible but also worth it! I received my bachelor’s in Psychology and Biohealth Sciences from Oregon State University in 2017 and my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2022 from Adams State University. I completed my practicum in crisis services and my internship in an intensive outpatient program for children and adolescents. I have experience in community mental health, including crisis services, addiction, school-based counseling, and outpatient behavioral health services, as well as in an intensive outpatient program for adolescents with eating disorders. In these various roles, I have worked with clients experiencing the effects of ADHD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and behavioral disorders. The therapeutic approaches I use include Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength-based Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am also trained in Child-Centered Play Therapy. My hope is to provide my clients with skills, identify their strengths, and eliminate barriers to assist them in moving toward healing and gaining autonomy. I was born in Oregon and raised in Montana. I moved to Colorado with my husband in 2019, where we are now raising our children. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, watching professional sports, coaching soccer, reading, and playing with my children (both two-legged and four-legged).

In-Network Counseling Services

Accepting Medicaid & Insurance to Make Therapy Accessible for All

Most major insurance plans are accepted here, so cost isn't what's standing between you and feeling better — and we'll handle the paperwork.

How it works
1
Find the right provider
Find the right therapist for you on our directory — filter by service, specialty, approach, or location to see who fits what you're looking for. Every provider in our directory accepts the same insurance, practice-wide, so cost doesn't have to be a separate hurdle.
2
Complete our intake packet
Found a time that works? Click Book, then complete our Intake Packet. From there, we'll take care of gathering your insurance details and verifying your benefits — so it's one less thing to think about before your first appointment.
3
Attend your session
Attend your session online or in-person, whichever you booked. Your Client Portal keeps everything else in one place — appointments, your Good Faith Estimate (GFE), and messages with your provider.
Top-Rated Counseling Services

Why clients choose us for therapy

Our counselors are trained to help you work through what's hard — not just talk about it. When you're ready, we're ready.

Summary
Across hundreds of client reviews, one theme comes through again and again: people feel truly heard here. Clients describe finally finding a therapist who understood them, gaining real tools for anxiety, trauma, and anger management, and walking away from sessions feeling lighter and more hopeful. Many say Overcomers was the first place therapy actually felt like the right fit — a space to be met with warmth, patience, and genuine care on the path to becoming who they're meant to be.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I have been through some very extreme trauma, and I've also done so much research and done so much work on my own. As a very self aware patient, it's insanely difficult to find a good fit for a therapist. Sometimes you just need to find someone who thinks outside of the box. Someone who makes you see a different perspective. I found this in Stefanie Kerr. She the most wonderful therapist I have ever met, and I've met A LOT! She encourages you to see yourself as just a normal human. You get stuck in this mindset that you aren't normal and get used to the label of being a broken person and she somehow makes you feel like you were never actually broken at all, you were just using your toolbox all wrong. She gives you the guidance to use what you found that works for you and makes it better! She smashes toxic coping mechanisms and helps you turn them into beneficial ones. She not only improved my life but my relationship with emotions in general. Along the way therapy with her has even helped my marriage!! Not only has my spouse seen a huge change in me, but my peers have pointed out how absolutely zen I am compared to how emotionally dysregulated I used to be. The way she changes your relationship with emotions is absolutely magical and I will recommend her to everyone I know until I die. She is an absolute blessing to the therapy world.
