About Brenda
I moved from Arizona nine years ago to Colorado. I love all the adventure Colorado provides. Most of all, I love the cool summer nights and building a snowman in the winter. While here in Colorado, I have been attending school and have received two degrees in Applied Behavioral Psychology and one Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Therapy is a collaborative journey. As we work together, I believe symptoms can be reduced. I am a trauma-informed counselor who practices from an integrated systems perspective, drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy, non-directive approaches, indirect play therapy, and motivational interviewing.
My therapeutic approach encompasses relational counseling with a focus on person-centered therapy. I also incorporate a strength-based and solution-focused approach. I also utilize modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Furthermore, I offer unconditional positive regard to all of my clients as we journey together in the counseling relationship.
