Weight loss therapists/counselors are professionals who practice and specialize in helping people overcome emotional and psychological barriers to successful weight loss. They can provide guidance, support, and strategies for making lasting behavior changes that contribute to healthy weight loss.

A weight loss therapist/counselor can help you identify the behaviors and thought patterns that have been holding you back, and provide you with the tools, strategies, and support you need to move forward. They can provide accountability, emotional support, and personalized guidance to help you achieve your weight loss goals and make lasting behavior changes.

During a full therapy or counseling session, your therapist/counselor will work with you to develop a personalized plan of action that takes into account your unique needs, challenges, and goals. They may provide you with strategies for improving your nutrition, increasing physical activity, managing stress, and developing healthy coping mechanisms.

The frequency of counseling sessions will depend on your specific needs and goals. Some people benefit from weekly sessions, while others may only need to see their therapist/counselor on a monthly basis. Your therapist/counselor will work with you to determine the best schedule for your needs.

Weight loss counseling services are provided by a range of professionals, including licensed mental health counselors, psychologists, nutritionists, and registered dietitians. It's important for clients to choose a provider who has experience and expertise in helping people achieve healthy weight loss.

The journey to weight loss can feel like a winding road with a lot of ups and downs. The goal of counseling isn’t just to help you lose weight. It’s to help you find a sense of peace with your body and your relationship with food. We'll work together to help you understand what's driving your behavior, so you can build new habits that support your well-being. You can live a life that is full and rewarding, and we are here to help you get there.

Emotional eating can feel like you're trying to fill a hole with food, but it never seems to work. Counseling helps you find new ways to cope with your emotions without turning to food. We'll help you understand what's really going on inside, and we’ll give you a new playbook for responding to your feelings in a healthy way. You can take control of your emotions and live a life that is not controlled by food.

Weight loss is a deeply personal journey, and it's not just about a diet or a workout plan. You may struggle with a lack of motivation, a fear of failure, or a sense of being overwhelmed. We understand these struggles. We'll provide a safe space for you to process your emotions without judgment. We believe in your capacity to live a life that is full and rewarding.

A dietitian is a specialist in nutrition who can help you with a meal plan and healthy eating habits. A counselor is a specialist in mental health who can help you with the emotional and psychological aspects of your weight. Think of it this way: a dietitian is your guide for what you eat, and a counselor is your guide for why you eat. We can work together to help you get the support you need.
