About Retta

Hi there! I believe therapy works best when it feels real, human, and collaborative. I show up as my authentic self and invite my clients to do the same, creating a space where both positive and difficult experiences can be openly explored and held with care. My approach is person-centered and existential, meaning I focus on who you are, what gives your life meaning, and how your values shape the choices you want to make. I also draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and strength-based interventions to help you build awareness, resilience, and confidence in your ability to navigate life’s challenges. Above all, I strive to meet you where you are, offering empathy, curiosity, and support while working together to shape therapy into something that feels intentional and aligned with your needs.

“We think we need answers, but what we really need is room. Room to change our minds. Room to be surprised by joy again. Certainty is tidy, but it leaves no space for wonder.” - The Tiny Joy Project

Gemini Ai
AI Summary
Across hundreds of client reviews, one theme comes through again and again: people feel truly heard here. Clients describe finally finding a therapist who understood them, gaining real tools for anxiety, trauma, and anger management, and walking away from sessions feeling lighter and more hopeful. Many say Overcomers was the first place therapy actually felt like the right fit — a space to be met with warmth, patience, and genuine care on the path to becoming who they're meant to be.

I loved using Overcomers! Everything about the process is easy and not at all as overwhelming as you’d believe. I absolutely loved being able to meet once a week with someone who genuinely cared and had good feed back for me! It made getting my mental health on track so much easier.

My therapist helped me so much, it’s almost bittersweet to have achieved all my goals, because now I don’t get to continue to see my therapist….

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Randal Thomas is an excellent counselor, I have grown tremendously with his help and guidance in the last 2 years. I have been in and out of therapy for 20+ years and by far Randal is the best therapist I've ever worked with. My only regret is that I did not find Randal sooner.
