Counseling for Domestic Violence Behaviors in Colorado

Recognizing that your behavior in a relationship has caused harm takes real honesty, and choosing to get help takes real courage. You shouldn't have to figure out how to change alone. Overcomers Counseling offers accountability-focused therapy across Colorado Springs, Aurora, Fort Collins, and Pueblo, plus statewide teletherapy, for individuals working to understand and change harmful patterns.

You Don't Have to Do This Work Alone

Whether you've been asked to attend counseling by a partner, the court, or your own realization that something needs to change, our therapists provide a structured, non-judgmental space to do this work. Change is possible, and it starts with understanding the patterns, triggers, and beliefs behind controlling or harmful behavior.

What This Counseling Addresses

Sessions often focus on recognizing patterns of control, intimidation, or harm, understanding the impact of these behaviors on partners and family, managing anger and emotional reactivity, addressing underlying issues like past trauma or learned relational patterns, and building healthier, respectful ways of relating to others.

How Our Therapists Approach This Work

Our providers use structured, evidence-informed approaches focused on accountability, self-awareness, and skill-building, often informed by established domestic violence intervention frameworks. This is not quick or easy work, and our therapists walk alongside you with honesty and consistency throughout the process. For clients who want it, we also offer faith-integrated counseling grounded in accountability and grace.

Clients describe finally finding a therapist who understood them, gaining real tools for anxiety, trauma, and anger management, and walking away from sessions feeling lighter and more hopeful. Many say Overcomers was the first place therapy actually felt like the right fit — a space to be met with warmth, patience, and genuine care on the path to becoming who they're meant to be.

Emily Ladd, LSW
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Its difficult to put into words the amount of help Emily has provided me without crying. When I first started this journey like most men I was skeptical at best. And had failed every time I attempted counseling. I knew I needed help but I didn’t know what I needed, thru this first 90 days not only have I felt heard but have worked thru EDM exercises, and have been able to put a name to a lot of the issues I’m facing while also understand you don’t have to be broken forever. She has been extremely patient with me, but also very good at challenging me at the same time. She has given me great resources that fit my life style (I’m not sitting down reading a book but I will listen to a podcast while I’m driving) she truly has been a blessing to not only me but also my children as my relationship is improving with them as well.

Dr. Roncalli is such a huge support and help for me. She is brilliant, and very quickly added insight, developed applicable life skills, and is a grounding presence. Overcomers practice is clean, safe, and the atmosphere is calming. I'm thankful I met her when I did.
