Sexual Addiction Counseling in Colorado

Feeling controlled by compulsive sexual behavior. The shame cycle of promising yourself it will stop, then finding yourself right back where you started. The secrecy that's straining your relationships and your sense of self. You shouldn't have to fight this battle alone. Overcomers Counseling offers confidential sexual addiction counseling across Colorado Springs, Aurora, Fort Collins, and Pueblo, plus statewide teletherapy.

You Don't Have to Fight This Alone

Compulsive sexual behavior often isn't really about sex — it's frequently tied to stress, shame, trauma, or using a behavior to cope with difficult emotions. Shame keeps a lot of people from ever bringing this to a therapist. Our therapists approach this work with compassion, not judgment, understanding that lasting change starts with honesty in a safe space.

Signs Sexual Addiction May Need Support

Common signs include feeling unable to stop a behavior despite wanting to, escalating patterns over time, secrecy or lying to hide the behavior, negative consequences to relationships, work, or finances, and using the behavior to cope with stress or difficult emotions.

How Our Therapists Help

Our providers use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed approaches to help you understand what's driving the behavior, build healthier coping tools, and work toward the goals you set for yourself. For clients who want it, we also offer faith-integrated counseling grounded in grace and accountability, alongside couples support when partners are affected.

What is the goal of counseling for sexual addiction?

The goal of counseling for sexual addiction isn’t to shame you. It's to help you find a new sense of freedom and control over your life. When you're struggling with sexual addiction, it can feel like you're on a rollercoaster that you can't get off of. We work together to help you understand the "why" behind your behavior and build a new toolkit of strategies to manage your urges. We believe you have the power to live a life that is full and rewarding, and we are here to help you get there.

What are some common signs of sexual addiction?

It can be hard to know if you have a sexual addiction. But if your sexual behavior feels out of control, if you're engaging in risky behavior, or if your sexual behavior is impacting your relationships, it might be a sign that you have a problem. We understand that this is a difficult thing to admit. We'll provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore what’s happening and help you take the first step to a better life.

Can therapy help with sexual addiction?

Yes! Therapy is a powerful tool to help you stop the cycle of sexual addiction. Think of it as a guide to help you find your way out of the maze. Therapy helps you identify the triggers that lead to your compulsive sexual behavior and teaches you new coping skills. We’ll also help you find new ways to handle life’s stresses and difficult emotions without turning to sex. We believe you have the power to change and to find a new way to live.

What is the difference between high libido and sexual addiction?

A high libido is a normal, healthy part of a person's sexuality. It’s when a person has a strong desire for sex, but they are in control of their behavior. Sexual addiction is when the desire becomes a compulsive need that you feel you can't control. It's when your sexual behavior starts to negatively impact your relationships, work, and health. We can work together to help you understand your unique experience and develop a plan to take control.

Dr. Roncalli is such a huge support and help for me. She is brilliant, and very quickly added insight, developed applicable life skills, and is a grounding presence. Overcomers practice is clean, safe, and the atmosphere is calming. I'm thankful I met her when I did.

The staff is super awesome. It’s a breath of fresh air being able to get the weight off of my chest. 5/5 10/10 whatever the scale. I never realized how much it would help. Wish I would’ve done it sooner! Better late than never !

Stefanie Kerr, LPCC, NCC, MA
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I have been through some very extreme trauma, and I've also done so much research and done so much work on my own. As a very self aware patient, it's insanely difficult to find a good fit for a therapist. Sometimes you just need to find someone who thinks outside of the box. Someone who makes you see a different perspective. I found this in Stefanie Kerr. She the most wonderful therapist I have ever met, and I've met A LOT! She encourages you to see yourself as just a normal human. You get stuck in this mindset that you aren't normal and get used to the label of being a broken person and she somehow makes you feel like you were never actually broken at all, you were just using your toolbox all wrong. She gives you the guidance to use what you found that works for you and makes it better! She smashes toxic coping mechanisms and helps you turn them into beneficial ones. She not only improved my life but my relationship with emotions in general. Along the way therapy with her has even helped my marriage!! Not only has my spouse seen a huge change in me, but my peers have pointed out how absolutely zen I am compared to how emotionally dysregulated I used to be. The way she changes your relationship with emotions is absolutely magical and I will recommend her to everyone I know until I die. She is an absolute blessing to the therapy world.
