Requirements for Group Eligibility
Clients need to know how to read, write, learn, and communicate at a high school level and have the time/ability to commit to mostly-regular group attendance (or you will feel confused and lost). Clients must be able to connect to the group virtually via Google Meet and know how to use their email (you will receive communication and group invites via email). Thus, clients need an internet connection that is reliable most of the time, a webcam, speakers/headset/earbuds, and a private place to meet each week. Clients must be 19 years or older.
This group will teach individuals the following skills
- DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): We will examine and challenge unhelpful speech patterns while developing more effective communication skills. This process supports improved emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and increased confidence.
- Mindfulness: Participants will learn grounding techniques to stay present and centered, especially during times of uncertainty. We will also explore how faith can serve as an anchor, offering peace and stability in challenging moments.
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): We will identify and reframe negative thought patterns, cultivating self-awareness and self-compassion. Emphasis will be placed on extending grace to ourselves as we practice and integrate new coping strategies.
- Psychoeducation: We will explore the historical and cultural context of the Bible to deepen understanding and relevance. This insight will help participants apply biblical principles more meaningfully in their everyday lives.
