Profile Picture Policy

In today's digital age, your profile picture is your first impression. It's often the first thing potential clients see when they search for a clinician online. A great profile photo conveys professionalism, approachability, and trustworthiness. Remember, people make snap judgments based on visual cues, and a polished, welcoming, professional image can significantly impact your online presence and success.

Profile Picture Guidelines

OC doesn’t require clinicians or employees to hire a professional photographer, and most phones can take high-quality photos.  However, it’s best to have a family member or friend take the picture using your back-facing camera.  Avoid taking a ‘selfie’ style photo.

  • Waist Up:  Photos should show from your waist up.  Your profile picture will look distorted if it is only shoulders and up.
  • Professionalism: Photos should be appropriate for a professional setting. Glamour shots, extreme filters, or photos with distracting backgrounds are not allowed.
  • High Resolution: Images must be clear and high resolution. Blurry or pixelated photos are not acceptable.
  • No Animals:  Profile pictures should only feature the employee.
  • Smiling:  A friendly and approachable smile is a must.
  • Eye contact:  Looking directly at the camera is best.
  • Accuracy: The photo should be a recent and accurate representation of the employee's appearance. This usually requires updating your profile picture every year or two.
