Starting 1/1/26, this benefit will go into effect, allowing clinicians to receive pay for no-shows or late cancellations, even if we have not collected from the client and even if they have Medicaid. The details below go over eligibility, requirements and pay rates.
Eligibility
Pay Rate
The rate for a no-show or late-canceled appointment is $25.
Requirments
To be paid for a no-show or late cancellation, the following criteria must be met:
- The Appointment type must be a session. Intake, no-shows/late cancellations are not eligible under this benefit.
- The appointment must have been canceled within 24 hours, or the client was a no-show. This means there is no pay for appointments that were canceled by the client, clinician, or Support Team 24+ hours in advance. Please note that clients may message the Support Team after hours, via call, VM, email, or text. If the message was received 24 hours in advance, there is no pay for this appointment.
- If the appointment is rescheduled on the same week, no pay will be provided to the clinician.
- The form below must be completed by the clinician on the day of cancellation or on the day the appointment was scheduled. Past appointments will not be paid.
FAQs
Can I submit this No-Show Pay form for Medicaid clients?
Will the client still be charged the $110 no-show fee?
- Yes, if a non-Medicaid client.
Will I also be paid the $110 no-show fee?
Why is the No-Show Pay rate now $25 compared to the previous rate of $48?
- The previous $48 rate was paid only if and when the no-show fee was successfully collected from the client. In reality, the fee was rarely collected from non-Medicaid clients and was never collected from Medicaid clients. This meant that the actual pay received by the clinician for a missed session was often minimal or zero, creating unpredictable compensation.
The new $25 rate is a guaranteed flat payment designed to immediately compensate a clinician for the time they blocked out for that appointment. While this rate reflects that the clinicians are not actively delivering master-level clinical treatment during that hour, it acknowledges their commitment and ensures they are paid a set amount for their lost clinical time. This change provides financial stability and predictability for our full-time clinicians.
Will the number of no-shows be combined and count toward accruing PTO?
- No. This No-Show Pay is considered a bonus; therefore, it is not added to any PTO policy.
If I am part-time, do I get paid for a no-show/late cancellation?
- Yes.
- W2/1099 Counselors: pay for no-shows/late cancellations will remain the same as in prior years ($48, if collected, doesn't apply to Medicaid clients).
- NPs: pay for no-shows/late cancellations will remain the same as in prior years.
If the No-Show is rescheduled for the same week, is there any pay?
