Look for a quick win

One of the key metrics of burnout is a sense of ineffectiveness. However, you can build up your efficacy — and a win in any area of your life will make you feel more capable at work. Try finishing a book, taking a workshop, completing a shorter project, or even cleaning out a junk drawer.  Taken from: http://www.raulpacheco.org/2016/07/keeping-yourself-motivated-the-quick-wins-method

Quick Wins are small tasks if focused on for 15, 30, or 45 minutes they can be finished, and THEN they will make you feel like you have accomplished SOMETHING.

One fundamental element of the Quick Wins method is that your quick wins need to be:

  • actually accomplishable within the time frame you set.
  • things you can quickly take up again if somebody interrupts you in the middle of finishing one.
  • stuff that you don’t need deep concentration for. If you need more than 1 hour, it’s not a Quick Win.

Information about to-do lists that can be used for quick wins can be found here: https://researchinsiders.blog/2016/03/31/to-do-lists-that-actually-work
